And I REALLY-Really mean, that I only resort to playing mobile games last.
The character selection? MFR wins.
Character PROGRESSION? MFR has more levels.
Powers? MFR has selection of 5 special ones to each character (besides normal Attack sequence- while avengers got 3 per character, iirc?).
Crafting? MFR actually Has proper crafting and breaking down system for gear and upgrades- avengers mainly rely on grinding.
RPG system? MFR allows to upgrade more powers as you progress (as in, more than original 5) and choose them instead- avengers have their own system, however, points allocated depend on how much you've levelled up (which is now slower , which btw brings me to next point).
Levelling Process? while it's been more or less acceptable in MA before(!) the update (which made it more tedious and more of a grind of the same missions later)- MFR actually has continuous story with missions rewarding major part of that XP , rather than encouraging you to grind mobs for it (just like any MMO should).
and finally,
The gear system- in MA you look for gear drops that are random from mobs; i.e. the more mobs you kill- the higher chance of getting higher tier gear, in MFR- you get it as a reward for missions, you can Combine to manually upgrade it, and do various changes to it.
The only gameplay aspect I found to be exactly(ish?) the same in both games is Power system- they both use integer power meter, that increases with gear...... considering, that MFR has just launched, it might change sometime later.
tl;dr Just a little breakdown- MFR is better in almost aspect, despite being made by smaller company, and being released on mobiles, rather than PC and Consoles.
The most important thing you'd have to (want to) pay for is actually the inventory slots. Apart from that? mostly cosmetics and some boosters, iirc (I didn't even manage to get as many hours into MFR as I did in MA- and I can already tell it's got an upper hand on most fronts).
Controls? Sure, the KB+M feels more familiar..... until you realise you can control most of it with two thumbs- I guess it's a matter of preference.
Also, not sure what gambling you're talking about, since there is no addictive element that encourages you to pay- while the addiction is to, well...... Play! While you punch and shoot through multiple enemies and follow the unique story. all puns aside, there is hardly any gambling, while in MA you Literally have to gamble your time on a) searching for a match, and b) seeing if the boss drops the exact gear you need.
I'd suggest you really try MFR for more than intro screen.
Theres really no gameplay whatsoever involved in the game when i said i was typing this while playing the game i really meant it loosely because playing is just hitting auto and watching your character level up. The only time i actually play is to move my character around every once in awhile during a boss fight and that is it. Iv got one character at max level and another close to max and i only touch my phone to level squad and skills, adjust and delete gear and collect rewards.
I enjoy the game and ill continue to play it but Avengers is on a whole other level i dont feel like im iron man when i play future revolution but i certainly do in Avengers.
How much interaction do the characters have with the open world?
Are there multi level surfaces, like climbable houses and buildings?
What are the combat mechanics beyond the 5 Powers and 1 normal attack?
Are there any defensive combat mechanics besides Powers?
How dynamic are the boss fights?
How is the difficulty of the game handled, harder/easier enemies roaming their own areas?
Are there instanced co-op dungeons and can you solo them?
Thousand ways to improve your stats a tiny little bit and another way to improve those ways another little bit more so you feel like you are getting stronger, but non of it affects gameplay in any meaningful way.
TL;DR just another mobile trash that will disappear in the sea of mobile trash in couple of weeks once the novelty wears off.
Cool. I am not yet at that level. If I just set it to Auto, I get dominated. I need to at least actively dodge the choreographed attacks, and find that on Auto, a lot of the attacks are just wasted.
Onto your next point, with the much more interesting story and voice acting, I really do feel like I'm playing a Marvel game, unlike my experience with Marvel's Avengers.
it's the typical auto-play mobile game filled with mtx
Level 9
Mirrored it to tv
Tapped the screen with one finger
Watched character run from mission to mission
Opened stuff
Yea that’s awesome..
Omg I almost forgot!! A few times I placed my finger on the screen n slid it sideways
