Why is the levelling so tedious?
So I've played this game for roughly 35 hours now on and off and I'm 85% of the way through the "Initiative Campaign" my highest lvl hero is Kamala at level 18 with Iron Man being 12, Hulk being 10 and the rest of the Avengers significantly lower...

Now I have done a lot of the side mission and my power lvl sits at roughly 30 per hero and honestly the xp and drops from Side missions and main missions is pretty crappy... lots of the gear I do get is just common lower item lvl gear and these are from missions showing a majority of +9's or something next to them..

Why am I finding this so tedious and damn right boring... going into the same mission 3 or 4 times to get a minuscule amount of experience and barely any drops is not my idea of fun.

Anyone got any tips before I give up for good because if I up the difficulty the enemies become pure hit sponges and kill my heroes in 2 to 3 hits and im starting to get fed up with it, Help please?!

Unfortunately that's basically the way the game plays. The levelling process is slow because their isn't much in the game to do. Even the only "end game" activity has been the same since launch, and its broken half the time. If you aren't having fun now, it doesn't get much better.

Not sure if this is the best method but think a semi decent pace one is to use the Harm room missions (the full battle ones, not training ones) You should be able to get one or more levels a run depending on the what type of enemies you fight (hard enemies like adaptiods or dreadbots give more XP then synthoids for example)

Make sure to keep your eye on the base power level of your gear pieces, not the boosted one. Then visit the gear vendors between missions to buy higher power level gear; this will in turn make the game give you drops which increase your power level faster. Don't bother boosting your gear beyond unlocking the perks on it, until you get PL 130 epics and legendaries and eventually exotics. Those you can boost 10/10 points.

Make sure none of your gear falls too far behind in PL, that will reduce the PL of the drops you get. Minor artifacts in particular are notorious for causing this as you get new ones far more sparingly than other loot.

On your way to 130, use the button which makes you equip the highest level gear quite often. Your base PL(not boosted) affects the PL of the drops you get so swap your gear always when you find something even 1 point higher than what you are currently wearing. If you wait until the end of the mission to swap gear, all of it will be pretty much of the same PL and your gear progression will slow down considerably.

I was at 115 PL when I finished Black Panther's campaign with BP and got him to 150 in two days after that. So four days from 0 to 150. Haven't got him to level 50 yet, that is slower now than it used to be.

The Assembled campaign isn't designed to take your hero from level 0 to 50 and PL from 0 to 150. It serves basically as a long introduction to the game instead, and you finish leveling the heroes after you play through the Assembled campaign. It's normal to have some heroes around level 10 after you finish the campaign, there is no need to grind within the campaign itself. Just play through the story & side missions once and then continue into the expansion campaigns. Then it's the Initiative mode for the endgame, final cutscene to the Assembled campaign is in fact unlocked in the Initiative.

after 35 hours you only have a power levle of 30 then you are doing something wrong. I took Hulk, Panther and Hawkeye (the real one) from 0-20 to 100 each in way less than 8 hours this week.

I'll try this thanks.

I've had the game since launch but I had many issues getting it to launch.

+1 for Caps post! That’s exactly how to do it.
And first boss from up from the depths.
Don’t waste upgrade mods or Polychoron until you have some 5 star legendary gear that’s pwr is 130 or epic minor artifacts aren’t too expensive since they only use 3 upgrade mods for each level.

Start thinking now what strengths you want on each character. I won’t lie, I was overwhelmed at first. All the perks and stats and etc.

Imo if the third perk is “defeat x amount of….” It’s junk. It’s ok to use, especially if the perk is kill 3 or 5 mobs to make that perk work but I certainly wouldn’t be holding onto it for long.

As you raise your pwr your mobs will become more challenging too, hence bigger and better drops per mission.

as soon as you're able to do the vibranium-versions of the missions, do them! the vibranium-clusters drop gear 10-15 PL-Points higher than you're currently wearing. (I got Cap form PL 110 to 130 in just one mission...)

I don't know, but I think the boosting also counts. Maybe you must get rid of gear, which is actually lower in your inventory. (not tresor afaik.)

Check every time you lock on, the shield and pym-missions. Accept them all. Only the bosses need to be targetet for the mission-loot. All other things will fullfill automatically, if you're grinding the map. (activate hero-sence as often as needed, Follow every question-mark. They get unlocked, if you're near them. Vibranium-clusters drop a huge amount of loot.)

When the event is over, do bunkers. Always grind the map, especially on those missions. Bunker-mission have the most loot-drops aside from event missions. (Vibranium in that case, at the moment.)

You should also have soms xp-boosting-items. They were free in the last few weeks. Those boosts are real-time, so make sure, they're not wasted.

bunker-keys for the desert-bunker are on the map "our little town" A directione-radar will apear on the top left side. Follow it. You should come to a shield-storage, which is pretty hidden on the map, eventuall.y This contains a chest which contains the location for a bunker-mission.

But there is also a mission-chain for bunkerrs.

The bunker-rmission itself will also contain a speicial chest, which can only opened if you defeted one of the bosses before, fullfilling one of the shield- or py-missions. This is the so-called "DNA-key" Don't search for that special chest on purpose.. They're randomly generated afaik.

BTW: if you're not playing Iron Man, they may be some doors, you can't opoen. If a door needs to get smashed, you need to activate hulk-buster whith him. (to deactivate and safe hero-energy for this power, press "1" after you smashed the door.) There are at least 2 types of such doors: one needs to get smashed. Power-heros can do that: Hulk (of course) Thor, and Kamala. And IM with Huldk-Buster activated.
And doors with a hacking-terrminal: Cap, BW, both bowers and Iron Man open those normally.
With Wakanda, it seems, there is a third lock, which apears only on the Wakanda-map. There is a terminal, which has a pym-icon over it. I didn't manage to get those doors open. Maybe only Black Panther can open those.

Trying to level up is the misconceived trap most people fall into. Level only determines what a hero can do. After level 30, level is meaningless until you are level 50 and Champion Levels begin. In every other game, Level is the measurement that we use to rate a character. Level in this game means versatility only.

Power is the real point of achievement. With power, your health grows and your damage increases. But it does not stop there. Power determines the perk sets that you can wield through the quality of your gear. Power in combination with Perks give your characters flavor.

With the proper approach, your game experience is much more rich. Yes, there are repeating tasks to do in the development of a character, but that is expected from any multiplayer game.

The story (single player mode) is slow and low on benefits. This mode rewards you with story, puzzle challenges and dialog content. Character development is almost completely removed from this mode. You are currently seeing "some" progress because we all have double experience active until September.

If you want to develop a character, you need to do it in Initiative mode.

This guide will show you how to use the shops to power-up. This method take 2-3 days to get to 150 without having to do any missions on that character (that you are powering up). This is how I got Black Panther to power 150 at level 15.
