Now we know.
or they just simply don't know how to make a live service game and obviously an rpg looter. Story was good, which is their strong suit, everything else is sub par.
I really like the story and Kamala is great protag, but the game is just another typical under-developed pos live-service game.
..like Anthem.
Anthem was a rush job. The developers didn't know what they were working on till the trailer at E3. That trailer guided them to what game to make in a short amount of time. It wasn't half assed it was just a rush job.
This game was made by company that doesn't do multiplayer often. Their idea of multiplayer working didn't work. That isn't something you always get to fix before launch. That requires a closed beta and single player games often don't go to that expansive of a closed beta. They built this as a single player game with multiplayer live service. They're busting their ass to fix it. I blame SE on this. They could have taken the game to their MMO studio to work on the multiplayer aspect. As they have experience doing so. They let CD do everything.
How is this game not a rush job exactly? Gear blocking heroic and defence rating is just one example of many but the most obvious one.
I didn't say this game was a rush job. I stated Anthem was. I simply stated this game needed a closed beta so it could test its multiplayer and change it if they needed to which is obvious they need to rework it cause it doesn't work properly. People with friends don't get to maps. People doing random don't get maps. How is this remotely ready for launch on the multiplayer side?
You didn't say this game was a rush job but I did. That's what I meant. This game is a prime example of a cash grab without taking into account the microtransactions.
Every game made is a cash grab. Do not try to twist this. Every game is designed to make money period. Did this game get pushed for because of Marvel's popularity sure. That is just smart you know business and this is a business afterall. Also this game wasn't a rush job. It took 5 years to make. Which is the norm for new IP's for a company with a new system of combat. Was/Is this game ready for launch no. I do not argue this fact. To say it is a rush job though is to be ignorant of how hard these developers are working. They actually care about their product. Publishers don't and they just want ♥♥♥♥ out there. It comes down to investors wanting a return on money spent vs the team who wants to put out the best product they can. Investors will often win out long before the team.
This can happen. One fix causes a thousand new problems. Which they have to then fix hope it doesn't cause more problems. Why I hold this is not ready for launch. I may have very little issues. That doesn't mean you won't get them. If you get them the next gets them and the next. I'm the exception not the rule. That is what I've been seeing on this forum. There are those like me that can play this with 0 problems outside of match making. There are people who outright can't even launch the game due to a error that has to be fixed.
what the ♥♥♥♥ are you smoking? In case you didn't know a cash grab is a poorly made product just for the purpose of making money and this is a poorly made product buddy. How can you call anthem a rush job and not this one? Literally every aspect of the game is broken and it screams of being unpolished, which means a rush job. Do you think I care about investors, publishers or devs? I care that we got a product that we shouldn't have gotten, that's all there is to it. You can defend the game all you want and deny the obvious but numbers and reviews( not on steam) don't lie. It's just an average game at best even without all the bugs.
