Totally stuck on the title screen

Today's patch, get stuck on the title screen where it tells you to press A to play. start the loading screen and stuck there, need to use task manager for kill the app.

same for me it keeps getting stuck at the title screen since the new patch was working fine before the patch came out

Today I launched the game twice, everything was fine. I decided to play in the evening and on the screen with the "start" button I click it and the game flies out

From another user but worked for me.

I was able to resolve this issue. It seems to be a corrupted save file. My steps:

Disconnect from internet to stop Steam Cloud.
Navigate to folder where save files are located (Documents/Marvel Avengers/(longnumber))
Make backups of the exisiting .dat files.
Try deleting different save1_X,dat files and starting the game. Mine was fixed by deleting save1_2.dat.


I don't seem to have lost any progress and the game continued working after I exited the game, turned steam cloud back on, and started it again.

I'm guess that the CTD I had before this issue happened corrupted something in that particular save file.

Seeing something like this as well.

Played for ~4hrs after patch hit last night, and when I restarted this afternoon,
game 'freezes' after hitting "START".

Screen animation and music are similarly frozen - music 'stutters' the last .5 sec portion of music that was playing when it 'freezes'.

Only Task Manager can shut it down - mouse can move around screen, but there's nothing to interact with.

Sent a ticket into Squeenix's Tech Support.

EDIT - Per Skippykgt's note, I deleted each Save1_x.dat files; only after all three were deleted did it work. Only the "Savebk" dat files were left, along with Profile1.dat.

Interestingly, it still 'froze' for a few seconds, along with a minor 'graphic glitch' at the top & bottom of the screen.

It then opened up the screen to allow entry into Reassemble or the AI campaign.
Unfortunately, it acted as if I'd just started, blanking all character progress.

Accessing AI, I found myself as Iron Man, but in default "Sweatshirt" costume.

All gear was gone, but all my Iron Man costumes were there, except the blue "Starboost" that I'd gotten somehow, despite it being an store item I'd not bought.

Further update - I renamed the Savebk_1 to Save1_1, and THAT actually let me in, WITH Iron Man's skills, Gear, Cosmetics, intact.

Looks like it reset my Faction Levels, however. I was at ?15? ish, so that will not be hard to redo.

BUT - it also reset to zero all my materials...
owch.
