I disagree about Diablo though. Loot in diablo 3 was garbage in the beginning. It was designed around the real money marketplace and at a certain point the drops were so rare that you had to spend gold on getting an upgrade.
At least they made combat fun here. Maybe more exciting loot will come if the game survives the bad launch.
Vaults should shower you in loot or at least materials. It should be loot candyland. They are like a janitors closet that they decided to move a few things into.
If you get a +crit or +stun on a piece of gear, it's rarely for all the attacks.
So basically the gear forces you to execute a specific thing (combo finisher, aerial juggling, and worse of all power attacks) to get the desired effect. This limits your freedom and it just plain SUCKS.
No. They didn't copy destiny loot wise. This game does the same mistake Anthem did, which is make earnable loot not actually change the overall look of your character because they want to sell you skins. The visual progression of your character through earning loot is a big thing in games like this, and they completely ignored it for the sake of MTX.
Not to mention the awful stats some items give. Trinkets that give bonus rep increase??? Tiny percentage chances to proc for extra damage? Higher ranged damage on the hulk? Increasing damage resistance on black widow? Just completely half-assed.
In this game, at PL 130 you stop getting Uncommons but you still get Rares.
And the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up thing is that you get Rares with huge stat boosts. I regularly get Rare gear with +50 to some stat and Legendaries with +30.
How does that make sense to anyone, is beyond me.
You also get ranged gear with melee stats and perks.

They copied it exactly. The entire system is exactly the same.
Same problem, whats the point of using hard earned upgrade modules to make your 130 legendary 140 when you get a drop of 130 epics that is better in stats in every way and your 140 legendary becomes trash. The only reason I can see is achievement or just being closer to challenge IV and 150+ challenges to not die quick.
Bro i literally JUST watched that review. In that segment he explains the different ways in which games like destiny implement loot. One case is the visual aspect. Marvel's Avengers does not have loot like helmets, chest pieces, pants etc that change the look of your character. This means playing for better loot isn't that satisfying in this game. Nor does it have loot that changes up the playstyle of a character. Loot in this game EXCLUSIVELY serves the role of giving you more power. That's it. This is why it's boring.
Also what exotics I've seen (because I didn't find a single one in 137 hours) are really underwhelming. They don't give you huge boost stats or any ability that's outside your character's skills or other item's perks.
Then you didn't listen to it. Start at 16:10.. then come back and tell me it isn't copied.
Dude he said that a lot of the game's aspects are copied from destiny. Things like the central hub, the reputation missions, the loot vendors etc. He did not say the loot system is identical to Destiny. "Then you weren't listening" isn't a good argument. Give me a time stamp where he states that the loot system is the same as destiny, because I can give you one where he says IT'S NOT. 36:10 onwards. dipsh*t
