Could also be corrupted saves. Your saves are in documents/marvel avengers/
Back them all up, turn off cloud saves in steam, then rename one of the backups to the main file
Usually it would be through a crash but I'm just guessing about all of it.
i have re-installed, backed up, turned off cloud, checked my AV, and i still get the error =( so every time i close my game it boots me back to ironmans first mission in campaign no matter my progress
What finally resolved the problem today was moving the Documents folder back to its original location; it had been in a custom location and I'm not sure if the patch suddenly made the game dislike long file path lengths, or if it was something else, but once we did this and deleted the "savebk" files (which seemed to be the ones having issues for us), the game runs--and more importantly, saves progress--quite happily.
thanks to you I was also able to correct this beugl one because it was indeed the anti ransomware agent which prevented the game from saving :)
(sorry for the broken english)
Awesome! Your English is good by the way.
Great advice,
I'm software developer and like usual people usually forget the most simple solutions, i didn't thought on add-in the game to the ransomware exceptions on windows defender.
Read through this thread, it's got good solutions to the issue.
