It all depends on whether/when they fix the performance and stability problems and improve the multiplayer content.

Yeah your right. How long do you think is a good time to wait to see if the player count grows anymore or dies down?

Are there any other sites besides, steam, steamdb and steam charts for player count? I haven’t seen anything on steam charts yet.

Considering the bad reputation this game has and how dull the post campaign grind is you'd be better off to wait a few months and see if the devs can manage to salvage it. People are going to get bored and drop like flies after finishing the few hours of story campaign then most of them will probably only return whenever an update drops more story chapters.

Hard to find games with level 50 hulk. It is easier with level 10 iron man to get full groups. Early release screwed me im too high level now

just go to the official discord server i always have full squads to play with now so don't even have to use matchmaking

Considering this game was designed for consoles in mind, most of the Marvel's Avengers player base is there since not everyone has a high end gaming computer to play this game. but if u plan to get this game on consoles i would suggest waiting for the PS5 or if u already have a PS4, you can buy the game digitally and you'll still able to download it and play it on the PS5 when it comes out.

Considering i'm at Power Level 140 with my level 50 Black Widow... i have only been in 4-5 matchmaking missions with players in the past 2 days with the lowest Power Level character i teamed up with was a 93 Ironman player... so yeah, matchmaking needs to be reworked,

Yeah i kinda feel like this game is somewhat niche on pc cause you need a pretty solid pc and the majority of fan base for avengers is younger kids who no question have a console..

I do have a ps4 pro and will get the ps5 as well. I think the ps5 version should be bearable and should reach 60 fps pretty consistent.

I would just love to play this game on pc for obvious reasons.. instead of getting a sub par experience for the same price.. however seems like pc has almost as bad fps issues as console..

Numbers don't matter when even base matchmaking isn't working.

This look exactly like Anthem launch so far. That half-completed game had great sales and the devs fixed and improved it greatly after 4 months - but player base has vanished before that.

It shows 32k players for steam but if you go to their official reddit page regarding bugs it's mostly console players and in particular ps4 owners that posted. Pc players are extremely few compared to them. Keep in mind spiderman is a ps4 exclusive so probably a lot of people chose ps4 due to that.

I feel it will likely survive longer on consoles, however its playerbase number seem very weak. They certainly are on pc, and given the response, along with the issues even those who like the game are expressing (performance issues, bugs etc), I think this will drop in active players very quickly.

Think of it this way, Avengers barely has a playerbase bigger then Age of Empires 2 on steam, and that isn't including age of empires 2 on xbox game pass, so in all likelihood, with it in its opening weekend falling behind a 21ish year old game, despite being the biggest ip in entertainment at the moment. Well, that says that people where turned of the game by something (likely the live service, the montetisation, the performance issues and bugs).

Maybe they are holding back content that is going to blow people away. But in all likelihood all they have new coming soon, is a new character or two and some mission tweaks, maybe another mission or two.

Well it's not too bad. 32K people playing at the same time, while the game is No 5 seller on Steam. I also think this is the type of game people like more on console than PC.
It was probably made in mind for console first, then PC as a quick cash grab. But it's doing very good so far, beside the fact that user reviews are going down quick.

Agreed its not to bad however, being the avengers ip and 30 000 on launch with only 2k more since is definitely worrisome.

It’s likely that if the numbers dont skyrocket in a week or 2 they probably never will unless they make some like insane update with loads of new content...

Agreed though, clearly console in mind first. Especially PS4
