Activate code in steam

I bought the game at the square enix site. It gave me an activation code.
But when I enter it in steam I get a message saying it is not a valid code.
Why is that? Do I need to wait till sept 1?

I had the same issue. I contacted support and they said there is no steam activation key. That activation code is used to register on their website, unlocking the beta code as well. They said that when the games early access is available the game will automatically appear in my steam library. Hope that helps

I mean, I got a code for the Beta, ok ... I didn't know that in auto it would give me the game (Deluxe in addition)

I am EXTREMELY doubtful, doesn't make sense to me either, im just passing what they said. It makes sense to a degree since our steam account is linked to square enix account

Same here. I pre-ordered weeks ago. If I don't get the game in time for early access, Imma go full Karen on square enix lol.

But srsly, they need to learn how to communicate things to people better. Shouldv'e just purchased direct from steam *sigh*
