Welcome to actual police work. 98% boring. And this is a simulator so…Have fun in this virtual police world where using a gun will end your shift.

Idk about you but where I live Police do hold gun's and it is for their safety as crime is extremely high in parts of my city. I think it is important that they implement guns and a type of discipline system that can end your career if you use unlawful force. Because this is real S*** that cops deal with everyday. Having the power of a fire arm and choosing when it is justified to use force or not. Not having this element of law enforcement is extremely unrealistic. It's like living in a "pleasant vile", where everything is done by the book and civilians cooperate almost 100% with zero violence. Definitely not how the "real world" is portrayed.

You can *keep* the real world. I play games to escape it!
The only real world games i like (sims) is OFP,Arma# whereby the enemy is the enemy and valid targets.
We all don't live in a gun riddled world.

Where I live, cops carry guns but don't need to use them the vast majority of the time. When they actually do need to use them, it makes national news.

Going off topic a bit, I wonder what people who have played this game for more than 5 hours will do... because literally this game doesn't have more than 3 hours of gameplay :GDCreep:

I agree but this is also a Police simulated game. Simulations are things that simulate the "real world".

Not true, in this game you can use your gun in any situation that requires it.

Indeed. I stopped an escaping detainee by aiming a gun at him. Had he not stopped, I would've fired a warning shot, then, if he still didn't stop, I would've fired at him in a non-lethal* area.

*Assuming the game follows the "getting shot near one of the main arteries in the body (leg) or somewhere full of blood vessels (extremities) isn't lethal" movie/game logic instead of the "getting shot basically anywhere can be lethal" reality. Depends on how accurate the simulation is.

Unless the suspect was threatening yours or someone else's life, your taser would've been a more correct choice.

You're absolutely right. What happened was - and I understand how this sounds - I panicked and just reached for the first "This will stop him" thing I saw. I'll look at the item wheel again and memorize where the taser is, so I go for it first on reflex.

False, if you fire the game it will tell you that you used undue force and you will have to start all over again

Yup, because you used it in a situation that didn't require it.

98% boring? Nah. Depending on where you work, you get a load of work to do, esp. at the week-end.

Real Police Work entails the use of firearms and car chases, this is just reality. This game needs armed suspects that will fire at you, not all the time but at least some time. Otherwise its just not realistic.
