not showing any shifts on multiplayer

my friend and i are trying to play multiplayer together and when one of us joins the other server private and public it wont show any shifts for only one of us. they will have shifts shown and i wont or the other way around. our games are up to date and no problems with internet connection.

Try toggling between open patrol and career mode and c if any shifts come up

Had this today, kicked second player and restarted. chose patrol and re invite second player.
