Brighton is an actual city name it’s not fictional
Brighton is an actual city in UK so the game is basically an American style city with a UK city name google Brighton it says it’s located 47 miles south of London in the East Sussex county in England not USA and it’s also a seaside resort and one of the 2 main areas of the city of Brighton

There aren't exactly a shortage of American cities that share names with British ones (and other European cities, for that matter), so arguably this makes the fictional Brighton in the game even more realistic...

The Brighton in the game is based on Boston. One of the neighborhoods in Boston is called Brighton. Also there is a Boston in England from which Boston, Massachusetts is named. Massachusetts was founded as an English colony in 1630. We have a ton of places here named after places in England.

Brighton is the neighborhood name not the city name they’re basing all of Boston on a neighborhood name and a Uk city not just one section of a city

It is still fictional. If there was a suburb of Boston called Brighton, then it would be harder to say "fictional location based on Boston". But the fact there is a Brighton 7,000 miles away does not make it non-fiction.

yeah clearly inspired by boston in the united states, the livery and crown vic taxi car/police car, and it's fictional, just so happens the city name is also a UK city, if it was supposed to be a UK game they would have had unarmed cops, smaller cars, UK livery (dlc livery does not count and seeing the dlc livery on an american car is weird), and so on.

lel, the game is also named "boston.exe" in the Taskmanager.
Hope this guy never looks up Springfield... Or a lot of fictional cities for that matter. Or how many places share the same name, and within the same area in some cases.

Anyways, yeah the game was originally supposed to be Boston, but I hear they ended up changing it to Brighton and publicly claim it's an "Anytown USA" with Franklin supposed to be an "Anystate, USA."

Don't forget New-YORK! The original York is also in England.
