Of course we could have 2 versions of the patrol vehicles wheres they don't have the top lightbar but instead have the lights on the left and right side of the windows on the top, no bumper but have the lights on the grill.
Only issue with that is modders needing the new templates to change the lights, plus the time it will take to create such mods could take a weeks to a few months depending on their free time.
I'd settle for the explorer to be an unmarked patrol car as a new dlc but I doubt we will get an unmarked version any time soon.
Only other police game I've seen with unmarked police cars is called 'Flashing Lights' and that game looks pretty interesting and a bit better. No workshop but you can look up mods for it and those mods are pretty damn cool. Some of the cars are have those bottom door lights like some departments have. Definitely look up the game and the mods
Based on this, I certainly hope that the game will receive an update which would give modders more freedom and flexibility in creating car and uniform mods for the game. That would also include slicktop cruisers as well.
