How do the traffic stop callouts work?
I had my first one after getting the pull over sign, but I lost points for every car I pulled over and couldn't interact with them other than charging for violations (which I didn't see committed.)
I was under the impression that it was to check every single vehicle that went through, but I can't figure out how to make that work.

When pulling over vehicles that pass a traffic checkpoint, the interaction wheel has a separate "Traffic stop" option when interacting with the driver. Make sure you select that option, so that you have the lawful reason for stopping them, even if their vehicle and driving style seems fine.

You can very well pull over any vehicle that passes through the checkpoint, so it's puzzling why you are penalized.

I believe you also have to be near the traffic stop (within 50 meters or so) for the "detain, traffic stop" option to appear.
To be clear, once you get the sign, you don't have carte blanche to just pull anyone you want over, or set up a 'stop and search' checkpoint, which sounds to me what you're trying to do. You can only pull over vehicles that have obvious issues like a smokey tailpipe or broken windshield. You won't even -notice- moving violations like turnsignals or blown reds until you get the car, though I could be wrong.

You must first receive a request: We need an officer at a traffic stop - Accept or decline. Accept the job and go to the checkpoint.

In free traffic you can use the stop trowel and legally control if:
• suspicious driving
• too loud engine
• underbody lights
• no turn signal set
• passing red traffic light
• smoking exhaust pipe
• tinted car windows
