Under the Influence (drugs or alcohol) in public
While on foot patrol, there will be instances where officer suspects a person under influence of drugs or alcohol. Will the same alcohol and drug tests be available to pedestrians in future? And will players be able to arrest them for consumption of drugs? Weird that the game currently rules that being drunk in public is not arrestable. It is in most places of the world haha

You can't drug test them for some reason but smelling or having suspicion there on a substance gives you probably cause to search them and then arrest them if they have anything illegal on them. I do agree you should be able to drug test on foot patrol though.

Not sure where it's illegal to be drunk in public. Just not suppose to have an open container. Why the homeless wraps them in paper bags. Drunkenness atleast in the US can be subjective all matters is how you conduct yourself. Only whenever it can be potentially harmful or effects other people. Then it becomes a problem. Like constantly stumbling into people on a side walk. Stuff like that in public could get someone in trouble. Also obviously can't take leisurely walks inside churches or schools reeking of alcohol.
Which all Americans should know.

In Canada if you drink in public you have it taken away/dumped and get a ticket. If you're grossly intoxicated and are posing a risk to yourself or others you can be charged but most agencies and officers chose to arrest them just to hold in cells until they're safe and sober and then they'll be released without charge.

Looking at these US statutes, they say being drunk AND a danger to one self or others.

The drunk peds in the game aren't hurting themselves or others (yet).

In USA the police officers have zero tolerance if u r publicly intoxicated u will be arrested especially in Las Vegas and if they catch u U will go to jail to Clark county detention center
even if they catch u with an open container in ur hand or vehicle they don’t care they will arrest u for it cause public intoxication is a crime and the officers care about safety of the people in that town and if u act disorderly towards them u will get arrested for disorderly conduct towards an officer
also any form of hitting a person or law enforcement official
either by open hand slap
closed hand punch or with an object
u will be arrested for battery
