Confused about the crime
Hi,
I had a driver whose ID car reg was different to the car she was driving. Is this a crime and if so what is it? I tried stolen car, fake insurance, non-insurance but all resulting in a - to my CP.

Not a crime. Could be a friend's car. What matters is that the insurance paper's and registration are current and that the insurance is for the car being driven, and the the driver has a current license to drive.

When you look at their ID or License Plate press C and it will bring up the police computer and give you detailed info. There is a segment on the vehicle section that will show if the car is stolen or not.

Note that this only shows the detail relevant to the driver's license that you are viewing (that is, the game presumes a 1:1 relationship between drivers license and car), however the driver may be driving a different car.

I've made the mistake a number of times of issuing an "expired registration" infringement for a car because the car they are officially linked to has an expired registration, but that is not the car they are actually driving.

You can still check the plates against the computer assuming they haven't fallen off in the wreck.
