You are such a drama queen. No one, not one person, asked to "play with guns all the time". That's right, this is a patrol simulator so feel free to ask any cop. They will tell you first hand that patrolling and traffic stops are some of the most dangerous things they do.
All users have asked for is a little risk in the game and since this is a simulator, asking for such isn't unreasonable.
RoN is a SWAT based look at law enforcement and has nothing to do with what people are asking for. I already own it and play it actively. You would have been far better off using LSPDFR to make your point.
FIRST GROUP OF PEOPLE: "We want something dangerous to be able to happen in this game, ocasionally, as risk is part of the police job and this is a police simulator."
SECOND GROUP OF PEOPLE: "gO pLaY CaLL oF Duty, pOLiCe uSeS gUnS RareLy" - totally missing the point of group one and ignoring the existance of aggressive, mentally unstable, drunk and drugged individuals. Some got warrants and don't want to go back in jail at any cost. Also car chases are being a normal part of police work, especially in USA. How about a physical attack on a police officer - pushing, spitting on, punching, kicking, attacking with a sharp or blunt object?
And before you pull up some statistics... If the chance of USA cop being stabbed is 0.01% - make it as such in a game, I'm perfectly fine with that. The same goes for every other aspect I've mentioned. We don't have anything against low chances of something happening as long as IT ACTUALLY COULD HAPPEN.
Stopping 150 wallet thieves and drug dealers with 0 of them even trying to push a cop down is Sims logic, not Police simulator logic.
just add shootings
What you're missing in the in between is development effort. It actually takes a great deal of work to implement new events ingame, particularly if the framework of the game wasn't built with the intention of including those types of events. It's not about whether it should be able to happen, I'm definitely in the camp of not minding if it could happen in very rare cases.
The issue is that it's kind of ridiculous to ask the developers to put that kind of effort into something that most players will actually never experience in the first place. If the odds of this happening are 0.01% per duty, then statistically, a single player would have to play 10,000 duties to guarantee that it will happen to them exactly one time. It would be a waste of developer time and effort to implement such a feature.
let's not forget this is a game, sure realism is important and all but there needs to be a certain element of risk to keep you on your toes
and if it's not everyone's cup of tea, there should just be an option to enable/disable gunfights
i honestly don't want to just ticket drivers and tow away parked cars, that and managing a crash scene, sure it's fun for a while but it just gets boring and repetitive
don't get me wrong i enjoy the game, i love what the devs have done with it but this just bothers me, much love to everyone on the dev team
I'm a cop, I need to use my gun. But apparently, the Dev's think otherwise.
Bad Choice in my opinion.
I would not have bought the game if I knew I couldn't pull my gun.
Refund please!
