crash on startup
Hey so was wanting to try the demo but the game seems to stop responding after the team 17 info

Publicado originalmente por Kobest:
Hey, I managed to solve this problem!

The issue is with certain Windows 10 editions. If you have the N version, you are missing some crucial codecs and Windows Media Player. If you don't have these, the game will crash when it's supposed to start a video (such as the Team 17 logo, intro to the training, etc.)

If you have this certain kind of Windows, you need to download the "Media Feature Pack for N versions of Windows 10" directly from Microsoft. You go to the webpage, select your Windows 10 version, download the file, run it, and after a restart, it should work.

For me, this worked like a charm, no more crashes before the videos, and no more mashing the A button to skip them!

I think I am having this same issue, I am able to spam A to get past the title screen but when I try to start the game it crashes after I select a character. I am assuming there is an intro video. The link for "Media Feature Pack for N versions of Windows 10" isn't able to be installed on my device. Windows is up to date. Any other solutions?

Greetings both,

@𝕌𝕨𝕌: your graphics card drivers are out of date which may be causing the issue. Let's try to update them and retest the game by following these steps:

  1. Go to the official NVidia download centre here[www.nvidia.com]
  2. Using the dropdown menus, fill in your graphics card information and press "Search"
  3. In the new page, click on Download and then Download again
  4. Right-click over the file and select Run as administrator
  5. If you are prompted by Windows User Account Control, click on Yes. The installer will prompt you for an extraction path. Most users should be fine with the default path.
  6. Once the driver install has completed, the extracted files will automatically be removed from your PC. Choose OK.
  7. You will next be prompted to accept the NVIDIA software license agreement. Read the contents and then if you agree, click "AGREE AND CONTINUE" to proceed.
  8. Next, choose Custom (Advanced). Then click NEXT.
  9. Select Perform clean install and then click on NEXT.
  10. Once the installation has finished, reboot your PC one more time to complete the installation.

Greetings both,

@Coni unfortunately, your Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 graphics card is just below the minimum required:

Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630

You can try updating your drivers directly from intel here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19344/intel-graphics-windows-dch-drivers.html

But we cannot guarantee that it will work. If it doesn't, we can only advise that you upgrade your hardware to meet the minimum requirements.

@Mocachino It looks like your graphics card drivers are out of date. Let's try to update them and retest the game by following these steps:
  1. Go to the official NVidia download centre here[www.nvidia.com]
  2. Using the dropdown menus, fill in your graphics card information and press "Search"

Greetings obax,

Sorry to hear that you are having this issue and thank you for sending over your system information. Can you please try to also update your Intel graphics card drivers here:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18369/intel-graphics-driver-for-windows-15-40.html

We wonder if the game is trying to run from your intel card instead of your Nvidia one.

Hello,
Appreciate the feedback.
I've tried updating the drivers and it didn't work, they're apparently up to date. Also, based on your feedback, I've forced the game to run on the Nvidia GPU and it's still crashing.

Do you have any other suggestion, maybe? :(
Thank you.
