Feedback on Default Keyboard Button Mapping
I could see why there might be a decision made to have Spacebar as the primary button to pick up things.
But it is difficult for any native K&B players to break the habit of Spacebar being bound to jump. I personally don't think picking up objects should be valued higher than jumping in this game.

Just going by the first mission, jumping is required to match any competitive timeframe.
I kept pushing J to pick up instead of Spacebar, and Spacebar to jump instead of picking things up unconsciously.
The only design choice I can see why would jump be assigned to a less ideal position on a keyboard is if the jump feature is not necessary or a nearly useless feature in the game.

E.G. like in Dauntless, where they assigned jump elsewhere cause you don't need to jump during a battle in that game. Jumping in that game is used to get unstuck and transverse a little faster out of combat. Otherwise, dodging is much more important, which is why they bound dodging to Spacebar.

Aside from that, having the buttons to pick up and throw next to each other, on J & K seems to make more sense than having them apart. As that layout mimics the grip on a mouse, Left and Right mouse buttons. Less of a mental hurdle to make than pressing Space + K.
(Assuming the grip is as follows; index finger on J, middle finger on K, thumb on Spacebar)

Lastly, just for ease of use, WASD should also be the secondary mapping to navigate the UI, addition to the primary mapping of arrow keys.

thank you for the detailed feedback and breakdown. Very useful. Also I just copy and past this to the team so I look smart too :)

The demo release came about very quickly for the team so we didnt tune the keyboard controls at all. but yes that will change in 2020 and re-mappable keys are on the plans
cheers
