Auto-adjusting difficulty based on player number.
I think the game should work like Overcooked/Overcooked 2 where at the least level times and 2-player item weight is adjusted based on the number of players playing a level. There's a huge difference between 2 people and four people doing a level and I understand assist mode exists but it feels really demeaning to play levels in assist mode just because you only have 2 people playing.

Assist modes shouldn't be a problem. I use them all the time. They're there to make it easier for ya to complete and do levels.

I'm pretty sure it does change the time goals?

There is one assist to add more time to complete tasks. I find that one the most helpful.

that's true but it takes away from the sense of accomplishment I get when i try to get platinum in a level (with my partner), because I'm already using parts of the assist mode, so for all the game cares I could turn assist mode all the way up to get platinum and then turn it off. I'd rather the game just increases time goals for lesser player numbers.

I don't think so, I've played with 2 and 4 players before and it felt like 5x easier with 4 people, if it is doing this rn, they need to consider increasing the effect, it's like a whole different game when there are 3 people running around to help you lift those 2p items

Well, I'm just saying what has worked best for me. Though, I still have yet to play this game with more then one person, so take my word with a grain of salt.

Wait, does it not? I kinda assumed it did

I very much assume that it does. The reason it probably feels like 4 people are way better than 2, is a few reasons. First off, the 2 person items become a lot easier for multiple people to tackle, huge. The most likely reason, but probably not explained anywhere, is that as you get more players, the "expectation" of each player likely decreases. For instance, with 2 players, the game might want you to play pretty tightly to get a great rating, where as with 4, each player has a lowered expected performance, to account for the fact that not all 4 people playing are top-notch players, evening things out. So basically, expectations for 1 player alone are very high, as you add more players, each individual player is is expected to perform less. If you have 3-4 GOOD players, you'll smoke the game, if you have 4 okay, you're as good off or better than 2 okay-good players.
