Platinum Medal Query

1. Do you need a gold medal to view the platinum medal time or will it be revealed just by beating a stage?
2. At my friends' house I noticed that on their Switch version of the game there's a dolly icon on their medals wheras on my Xbox version there's a clock, why is that? (I actually saw this before the update that added platinum medals dropped.)

A few days ago I played at my friend's house and the platnium medal requirement didn't reveal itself on a level she got a silver medal on.

Hi! So I had the same issue too even when my friend and I received a plat time for a level. It was once we had gotten our fifth gold medal that it unlocked the plat times for the levels. So it may just be you need a certain amount of gold medals first. It didn't seem to be by extra tasks since we already had those completed for the level where we got plat before plat was unlocked. Hopefully this helps!
