Sorry to hear you won't be joining the Moving Out fun.
Whilst the game doesn't have multiplayer features built into it, it does support online play using Steam Remote Play Together.
I don't know if it ever works for people that don't live in the same house/network.
im using 100/50 (down/upload).
been trying to use different setting. even lowering the resolution.
it is still unplayable.
---
a lot more people will bought the game if this have online multiplayer feature.
if still possible, you guys should focusing the team on that feature
Remote Play Together is a bit hit and miss, but it is unusable for my friends with not so great internet.
Please consider adding a proper online mode, happy to pay a few more bucks for it.
the ping is between 5-35s.
she is using 20:5.
yes ping is important for online game, but remote play is basically streaming.
upload bandwidth is important.
funny thing is, i can stream just fine, i tested it, i invite her to watch. yes there is a bit of delay, but it's still acceptable. but remote play is different. not sure what went wrong with that feature. it is not working for most of the people.
perhaps the video encode or something else.
tl;dr
remote play sucks, it is unreliable
We don't have any plans to add online features into Moving Out, but if you are playing here on Steam you can use Remote Play Together to play over an online connection :)
As many have already stated, Remote Play is very unreliable. Just add online multiplayer if you want this game to sell. Online play- Buy. No online- Never buy.
To each their own I think, I'd rather have remote play together than some badly implemented net-code.
