How does this not have online?
I was extremely excited to see previews of this game and immediately knew that many of my friends and family would buy this to play together. Then we realized it’s local co-op only. Not only is that disappointing, but it’s a clear no buy for me now. It’s 2020 Devs, people don’t gather around couches anymore to play games together. They do it online. RIP sales.

Hey folks!

We don't have any plans to add online features into Moving Out, but if you are playing here on Steam you can use Remote Play Together to play over an online connection :)

Hey Crunchy Socks,

Sorry to hear you won't be joining the Moving Out fun.

Whilst the game doesn't have multiplayer features built into it, it does support online play using Steam Remote Play Together.

With corona being out, we really need it to have proper online coop. Remote play is nice but still isn't the normal way to do it

Remote Play is way too laggy.
I don't know if it ever works for people that don't live in the same house/network.

im using 100/50 (down/upload).
been trying to use different setting. even lowering the resolution.

it is still unplayable.

---
a lot more people will bought the game if this have online multiplayer feature.
if still possible, you guys should focusing the team on that feature

I have to echo what other people are saying here. We need proper online support. Couch gaming is great when you can get people together, but that is not often, especially not when everyone is on lockdown!

Remote Play Together is a bit hit and miss, but it is unusable for my friends with not so great internet.

Please consider adding a proper online mode, happy to pay a few more bucks for it.

For what it's worth, download/upload speeds are less important than the ping between players. This is how fast two computers can send information back and forth. Test your ping. Ideally it's less than 15ms but it depends on the game too. And the person's connection too, of course.

we are on the same city.
the ping is between 5-35s.

she is using 20:5.

yes ping is important for online game, but remote play is basically streaming.
upload bandwidth is important.
funny thing is, i can stream just fine, i tested it, i invite her to watch. yes there is a bit of delay, but it's still acceptable. but remote play is different. not sure what went wrong with that feature. it is not working for most of the people.

perhaps the video encode or something else.

tl;dr
remote play sucks, it is unreliable

You're right. For remote play the upload and download speeds are more important than just for regular online games.

Why do developers keep disappointing these days?! This looked so good but the lack or proper online co-op play is a huge mistake these days, just pushing people away from buying.
Artigan202 Mar 26, 2020 @ 4:36pm
That price with no online play! PASS
WolF Mar 28, 2020 @ 8:58am
too bad there's no co-op, pass

I would have bought this game for my friend and I but single player isn't fun for me. Remote play never works, either.
Shhmio Apr 1, 2020 @ 1:22pm
Yea, no chance this does well. 25$ with no online play?
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

As many have already stated, Remote Play is very unreliable. Just add online multiplayer if you want this game to sell. Online play- Buy. No online- Never buy.

Remote play together is quite reliable to me, and even better - I don't have to pay 4 copies to play with my friends, which is definitely ...3 pluses.

To each their own I think, I'd rather have remote play together than some badly implemented net-code.
