Why won't a PS4 Controller work in this game on PC?

It used to work wirelessly for me with a PS4 controller, not anymore. I don't know if its to do with the new steam settings, or Konami. But this is very bad. I cannot play this game with the rubbish Xbox D-pad, i am used to the Playstation controller D-pad, its what i've always used, even on the most earlier games from Konami, i've always used the D-pad, i find it more accurate, tiring at times, but i enjoy. Why, for whatever reason did they decide it was a good idea to stop supporting PS4 controllers in this game on PC?

I use a wireless controller from PS4 and it works without errors
