Its horrible scripting.
But... Players run towards the sideline? Check your tactics and manager when defending.
About difficult passing, try to tap when passing instead of doing normal passes.
When pressing long on the pass button, a player will take more time to pass. This gives the opponent time to intercept.
Players colliding... Yes that looks like comedy capers.
But you can try switching to less pressure and let your other players stand further away for passing.
These are some hints. I know, the game is scripted.
One evening I win almost all my matches, other evening I loose most of the time.
And oh, not forgetting the invisible man holding your players from getting it or slowing them down.
This is frustrating tbh.
