No Start
Just downloaded, meet all the specifications, but when I try to run, it goes to the configuration screen, then I hit play and nothing happens. Have tried multiple times, deleted and re-installed, rebooted computer, but nothing seems to help. Can anyone help?

I've tried every single resolution option, as well as windowed and fullscreen modes. Still, nothing is working.

Same problem as Aaron and luxanna. Nothing works :( At least I didn't pay full prize for this...

I did a search on google and found posts from 2010 in Steams forum about the same problem we're having. Nothing seems to have been fixed, Steam (theoretically) knew about the problems and yet they continue to sell it...

wow... this is an old dead issue, so only me and the ghosts in HAUNTED HOUSE will probably see this post...but, anywho, for those that couldn't get her to work, try this......

1) after the "freeze" occurs just after the intro credits when starting the game, click "alt + tab" to minimize the game to your taskbar...
2) then click on the game in the taskbar to open/maximize it again... the frozen screen is gone, and after a second of black screen, you're good, as you'll see the working "ImaginEngine intro logo" screen appear, and then the "Haunted House, Click to Continue" screen, which when clicked goes to the Main Menu, as your cursor is now the best looking cartoon skeleton hand you ever saw!!...

this is on a Win7, 64 bit, with the "HauntedHouse.exe" compatability mode set to "win2000" (didn't work with compatability set to WinXP) and the resolution in the game "configure" window set to any value EXCEPT the "1600 x 1200" which does NOT work doing this... "1280 x 1024" gives full screen..."800 x 600" and "1280 x 1024" give bordeless windowed displays, but all three of these display modes work...

Thanks for trying to help but your solution doesn't quite match the problem. We, or at least I, don't see anything else than the intro/logo Haunted House with two buttons: Play and Configure. Config works but not Play, clicking it shuts down the logo. There's no intro credits and no freeze and the game doesn't show in the task manager or the task bar. When clicking Play in the steam library again I get the same HH logo with Play and Config but no message that it's already running like it should if it had started.
When verifying the files it says 1 file couldn't be verified, the re-download says 0 bytes and verifying again gives the same info.
I've tried all the different comp modes w/wo admin rights as well as all the resolutions w/wo window mode. I'm using Win Vista 32.

Verifying and re-downloading says it's 656 bytes but it still won't start. I can repeat this again and again but the only things that might change is the number of bytes in the download.
