Grind?

Is this anything like those "classic" japanese TRPGs, forcing grind on non-story maps for dozens of hours?
I still fill sick to my stomach, remembering Disgaea and Tactics Ogre. Very much not a fun of those (at least TO had its story going for it, and that still wasn't enough to force myself trough the campaign)

This is where trainers and cheat come to play. Its a SP game just enjoy the story

I didn't feel a need to grind but you should definitely do all quests to make sure you are still aptly leveled up.
You will also tend to try to play some levels to unlock stuff anyway

On normal, I did not do any free battles until about 80% through the game, when I decided I wanted more summons. With proper planning and examination I was able to one shot about 90% of fights despite not pursuing levels in side battles. So grinding was completely unnecessary on normal.

On hard, you may have to grind. I dont know.

The game rubber bands the levels of your characters, so you dont have to worry about less-used characters ending up low level.

Grind to progress the storyline and have an enjoyable time? Not at all.
Grind to 100% the game and satisfy your gotta-catch-'em-all instincts? Medium.

You are never required to grind, but you may do it if you want to compelte certains quests early, or just expand your arsenal. But it is never any sort of "insane" grind from other games.

We aren't really a fan of grinding or artificially increasing the length of a game so we tried our best to design something where you do not need to grind. Thanks :)
