I can't figure out these monster card drop rates

I know you're more likely to get a drop if you kill with a critical, and I know you can't get monster type II until you've gotten type I. So I'm killing a phoenix (fire, type I) with water, reloading, killing it with water again, reloading again, over and over, and it never drops the card! Am I missing something about how drops work?

Some cards do not drop during story battles.

Are you sure the game allows you to save scum like that? Your technique would be easy to circumvent by using a seed for the random dice roll that persists through reloads.

There is no seed. I only did story missions until all my characters were Lv. 60 and then started finishing up my summons in Free Battles.

I had to restart a battle multiple times until a Dragon Matriarch finally dropped its card.

Im also struggling with an enemy card. The Gremnling warlord. IM loading the start of the fight every time but he never drops his. He drops other stuff. Are we sure we dont have to create another instance of the fight?
BEcause something has called my attention, that Claudia's aoe at the beggnining of her turn always crits and it destroys a barrel that leaves a random item.
That makes it seem like theres a seed for the whole fight.

Nah, up the luck and/or repeat the fight until ya get the card.

Just to be sure, you're trying to get the Gremlin Warlord at: Monday > Doro > Ashen plains at the map '???' ? If that is the case, then my previous statement is true. Otherwise you can try as much as you want and will never be able to get any of the 6 rank enemies. They have their own special days where their card can drop at.

I believe they also added a passive to the 6 rank faeries at other places outside of their own specific fights that practically tells you that you can't get them in that fight.

anybody found some thunder elements? is there a reason they are so rare
they are absent from the starting zodiacs as well

is it for balance reasons since they are strong against arcane?

The Roc is the only summon in the game that's electric. Best found in the Ashen Plains on Wednesday. Note: as per usual, for it to drop, make sure you own its first variant, the phoenix.
