What are skull cards?
The "Curse" card says, "Torment for 5 dark magic damage and increase power of skull cards"

But, the game never explains what skull cards are.

They are the red cards that damage the opponent when you pick them.

Yep that's correct. If you mouse over those skull cards, they say "skull card"
