Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

am i doing something wrong?
ive watched videos and tinkered with the program and everything i do doesnt make a difference. sometimes it shows i have more fps but it definitely feels worse than if i just didnt use it. some things give me insane input lag and choppy gameplay, i hope someone knows something i dont and can maybe offer a solution cuz as it stands right now this is among the worst purchases ive made on steam.

What's your GPU, monitor resolution and refresh rate? How much fps did you get? What does the LS framerate counter show?

amd rx550, native seolution is 1920x1080 and max is 60 refresh
Which game have you tried, what's the game render resolution and the framerate without LS?
i was doing hunt showdown. i have to pay it at 1280x720 cuz i simply cant run it at native and my frame rate at that resolution is high 40's sometimes 50's
Then try a 30fps framerate cap, use x2 framegen with performance mode, scaling type Off, start with a LS render resolution setting of 100%, if you then are still unhappy with the performance lower the render resolution to 75% or 50% or even lower.
do you mean like a resolution slider in the game itself cuz if so hunt showdown doesnt have that. if your talking about a option in lossless scaling itself then i have not seen it ill check again
Yes, the slider is in LS directly under framegen mode.
ohhh i see it now i have that set to what i asssume is 0 cuz i thought that would make it worse if i had it cranked up
100% is the original resolution, the lower the scale, the less GPU power LS needs to do the frame generation.
man i really appreciate you taking the time to try and help me. i have those things set in LS and will try them in a little while and give a report on it later.
Good luck :) Btw, LS needs VRAM for frame generation, you could lower the texture settings of the game for less VRAM usage if you still notice problems.
If you are getting 40-50 fps in that game, like Gizzmoe said, cap it to 30 and let LS do the other 30 to get to 60.
LS works terrible when you have a variable framerate, you always need a constant framerate and then LS will work properly.
ya i tried what you said Gizzmoe but nothing seemed to work it actually only made it worse. id rather play the game at 720p than have LS make the game choppy and have input lag.
Damn... Doesn't work even with 50% resolution scale and lower texture settings? Does your 550 have 2GB or 4GB?
ok so i retried those setting you suggested and what Raiden said. i capped to 30fps and it gave me a solid 60 but the only thing was there was a small hint of input lag. not huge but still noticeable and not good for a competitive shooter where such can get you killed. my card is a 4gb card to answer your question
