Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

Resolution Scale & Input Lag
Hi,
Am I correct to believe that setting resolution scale at a lower value (IE 60 to 80) will also improve input lag?

Thanks a lot,
Regards

As far as I know, if your GPU is being overworked, that probably will help, I guess?

But the option is for performance; if you already have a bunch of GPU headroom, it's probably not going to change anything as far as latency. You primarily want to mess with max frame latency and sync mode if input lag's a concern.

Thanks for your answer. I'm using a RTX 3080 on a 240 4K oled monitor, so some i need the extra FPS on some games that are poorly optimized.
But losless scaling increases input lag. How can I improve it via the app itself? Max Frame is already set on "1" is that the best option I have to minimize input lag?

Best thing is to lock game framerate and make sure your GPU isn't maxed out when both game and LS running. When GPU is maxed, latency like tripples for me.

Hi, thanks a lot for the answer. How can I make sure my 'GPU isn't maxed out'? And indeed locking game framerate helps a lot.
Moreover, about my first question, does resolution scale help with input lag?

Sync mode>Off (allow tearing) is another thing you can do, though that of course may lead to screen-tearing.

Otherwise, I think that's it, as far as settings within the applications go. I think the different capture APIs may have different latency figures, but idk how they compare.

Basically, try to keep your GPU utilization from going above 85% or so, including in GPU-intensive scenes.

Thanks a lot. I'm gonna try that. Can I add you to my FL?
Thanks

Hi, I’m experiencing a huge imput lag and very low GPU usage and low base FPS when using the G-Sync support option. The performance returns to normal when I turn this option off. I’m using a 4060 Ti.

Thanks
You're free to, though I offer no guarantee that I can provide help.
