Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

Enjoying Star Citizen once again - Thank You!
I like many others have a love/hate relationship with this title. Yes it is making progress each additional year that ticks by, but their servers have always been a point of contention along with missing features that would really improve the player experience.

It took a little while for me to figure out how to configure things just right but once I did my jaw hit the floor.

Processor = 5900x
Ram = 32 gigs
Storage = Game & OS running off an m.2
Graphics = Sapphire Nitro 7900 xtx
Current Game Resolution = 2560 x 1440 that Lossless upscales to 4k
Framerate = Locked in amd adrenaline to 30fps that Lossless boosts to 60fps

A respectable rig, and yet Star Citizen's FPS is almost always fluctuating between 30 and my target of 60 with lots of little hiccups, bumps and jitters happening along the way.

Thanks to Lossless Scaling I am now able to play at a very smooth 60FPS 99.9% of the time even when I land on a bad server or am playing in an overseas zone.
Q: Does the game look as great after being upscaled?
A: No, but it still looks great after the upscaling from 1440p to 4k.

Q: Doesn't frame generation screw with my latency?
A: Not nearly as much as I feared it would, and with the trade-off being a smooth gameplay experience in a game that I tend to expect minor or worse latency issues anyways. I am happy with the trade-off. I like a quality presentation and I would not be writing this if I was not impressed with the end experience.

This application holds more weight in Star Citizen at current than most of the ships I own.

Worth the buy!
