Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

Does it work on gaming laptops ?
Hello, I have a gaming laptop (i7 10th gen, 16GB RAM, RTX 2070 8GB), and I've been trying to use this app, but it doesn't seem to work. Instead of boosting my FPS, it gets worse—to the point where the game becomes unplayable, very laggy, and blurry. I have my games set to borderless window mode, and I also tried limiting the FPS to half. For example, I have a 144Hz monitor, so I limit my games' FPS to 72. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I've tested different games, and it doesn't seem to work. I would appreciate some help. Thank you.:steamhappy:

I had this issue in mine. It likely is using the integrated GPU from the CPU , which is much worse ( if not unusable) instead the dedicated GPU. Make sure the correct GPU is selected in the options ( it’s in the rightmost tab)
I also have a gaming laptop (i7 13700hx, 16gb ram and rtx 4060) and it works fine when I'm using my external monitor (full hd 144Hz), but when I'm using the laptop's monitor (QHD 260Hz), It doesn't work at all, no framerate increase and insane artifact.

I get pretty fine results whether scaling or frame generating on mine (i7 10th gen I believe, GTX 1660 Ti). I second the suggestion to make sure LS is using your dedicated GPU rather than the integrated one.
Also, on a gaming laptop I believe you're supposed to go to Windows settings>Display>Graphics settings, then set LS to "Power saving". It might be an old tip, but I haven't had problems and it's still capable of using the dedicated GPU when I set it within LS. You could also make a driver profile in the Nvidia Control Panel for LS (if it isn't already there), and set power management to prefer maximum performance.

How did you solve this problem, I had the same trouble as you

It works well on my lenovo legion 7 with RTX 3080. I used the mux switch in the lenovo software so the igpu is not active at all on my laptop.

it even works on my integrated gpu only laptop (Intel UHD built-in i3-1125G4). The key is to sustain a base fps of like 20 or 30 then let the app do the job from there.

Works for me fine (rtx 3060, ryzen 5 5600h, 32gb ram, 1080p 144hz). Saved me from building pc for now to be honest. Tested on many games and im very pleased with results.

Tested even bullsheet settings like LS frame gen x3 on a game with fsr 3 frame gen on it already, still worked and was even playable.

Try switching Gpu thats handling LS in settings
switch Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling on
use DXGI api
maybe try game in windowed mode instead of borderless just to check
