I bet the majority of LS users has a 60hz monitor.
I don't think your purchase is entirely wasted here though, even if you are capped at 60hz. That's true with the games, however most video content is recorded sub 60fps. If you turn on LS 3.0 at 2x or 3x (whatever looks better), vsync/gsync, and capture API set to WGC; you can actually use this to improve fluidity of youtube videos, anime, and most video content. Some sites will block it and all you'll see is a black screen, but that's because the site not the program.

When I do this I don't bother to limit fps. If nothing is moving on the screen it'll drop to 1/2 fps, and when it does it'll feel like it kind of locks up. This goes away quickly when something moves again, so in between videos I turn it off until I get settled in. Having it on a quick keybind is nice.

Yes, a 144Hz monitor can get you noticable fluidity even if you can't reach its maximum potential all the time.

If you are used to 60Hz, even an increase to 90 - 100 fps will feel much better.

1440p 240hz, that gives you lots of different framegen and base fps choices.

I doesn't need to be able to handle 240hz in everything, the monitor will have VRR. even just 180fps will look quite a bit smoother than 144fps. "More choices" just means, for example, when you have a game that drops to engine-related 50fps you could do a 50x3/4 framegen with a 240hz monitor, with a 144hz monitor you would be limited to 48x3. And a 46x5 framegen looks really really nice.
