Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

Lossing 50+ FPS even if it is set up to do nothing!
I tried using LS today like I did the last month, and after 5 minutes I realised that my gpu was oddly laud in the same spot I was yesterday and after some testing, LS is decreasing my fps by a 40 to, in the most extreme case 70! And the best part? Everything was disables! No frame gen, no upscale, no nothing and still it kills my frame rate! The games seem to be unaffected, they run as good as ever.

I did nothing, from one day to the other the program became unusable, the only think different was that “Smart access memory” turned from “not supported” to “disabled” today.

I tried everything, reinstalling the program, updating drivers, checking my gpu settings and nothing helped so far.

When you enable framegen, which two numbers do you see on the LS framerate counter? Is the first number (the base fps) the same number as in the ingame or RTSS framerate counter?

I am confused by your post.

So you "tried" to use LS?

Is all you did open LS? Did you click the "Scale" button on the right to make it work on a application? You sound like all you did was open LS but not make it work on anything.

If you did not "inject" LS into a game, then I doubt it will decrease your performance in any way. Just having the LS window open should not influence your games performance.

You also state that everything was disabled, while it still kills your frame rate. At the same you state that the games still run as good as ever.

I used it like I did the last few months, and today, instead of the regular 10 to 15 fps drop from scaling it drooped 40 50 fps. And this drop happened regardless if I tentered of upscaling, farm gen or both, in fact tuning of both makes it WORSE!

With frame gen it kind of just… fixed itself, bot without I still have an insane 40 to 50 fps drop, and I honestly think the drop is closer to 70.

Alright found it out, it is an issue with freesync and the dev cant fix it because it is something that has to do with windows. Why I only now have the issue is beyond me, but good to know that, for once, it is not because of my system.
