Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

2 gpus for lossless scaling
I have a 1070 in my current pc, and i have a 1650 super lying around. Will it help the fps hit from frame gen if i run my game on my 1070, and let the 1650super do the frame generation? I have a pretty beefy am5 motherboard with a amd 7 9700x cpu and 2x16gb 6000mhz memory.

Are you sure? My cpu utilization % doesnt go up when i activate it, my gpu utilization does though. And reading other discussions on this also never mention cpu being used for it

Hm... maybe the dev will come and uncover this. I'm relatively certain it runs on the CPU though - I'm CPU bound and when I activate it, base FPS drops a bit while GPU is chilling at half load. I might be wrong though :)

I run a 6900XT and framegen on a W6600. it works great, Search for this video ''Lossless Scaling Dual-GPU Guide/Overview'' on youtube by IvanVladimir04.

aaah, well seeing as the cpu has to ''ready'' the frames first before delivering them to your output, also throwing framgen on it will indeed make it more heavy.
yes you can, as long you use the latest lsfg wich is 3.0, and be sure to pick the gpu on the "preferred gpu" option.

damn you will surely get roasted on this, join LS discord and you can read documentations there regarding dual GPU plus the dev itself is active there too.

I stand corrected, then. Always learning new things :)

Yep.. right. hot statement for sure ... ! FG taxes the gpu so MUCH imo 🤭 ... You gain x2, X3.. "fake frames" but loose quite some base/raw fps 🤨 .. hope they find a way to reduce base fps loss !

of course it will reduce your base fps just like any Machine learning based algorithm on frame generation like FSR or DLSS. Its really hard to explain things like this on non-technical players who just know how to click the play button but it is what it is. There is no app that can produce fps out of thin air lol.

Whitout being technical... It also about the degree of fps reduction that sometimes doesn't make sense when using ML / AI models .. 🤔
Especially when you use an beefy gpu with many tensor cores & lots of memory .. ! Using FP16 vs FP32 put aside ofcourse.. thats another story..
