Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

Dual GPU = 8k possible?
Im vibing on the 4070ti with the rx 6600 combo absolutely enjoying that 45 FS baseline then doing LSFG without losing not even 1 frame! I am cranking all settings max including RT, but no PT on 4k using DLSS Performance (new dlss transformer model made performance = old dlss cnn model quality).

This got me thinking, say someone has like a 4090 or the upcoming 5090, if they are gaming at 8k, and hopefully getting around that 45 FPS, assuming they have a good LSFG card that can output high interpolated frames at that res, isn't 8k gaming totally possible? Of course that 45 FPS baseline may not be for everyone, but its single player games and latency although doesn't feel very good, the smoothness of 45/180 is insane, I can totally see a 5090 or something can do atleast 45 FPS at 8k with dlss ultra performance and maybe some settings optimized then you do LSFG x4 and enjoy

Right now I am trying to experiment with DLDSR + 4K + RT and settings maxed out, but barely getting like 20 FPS on DLDSR 1.78x on my 4070ti, I think if I have a 4080 or 4090 I can easily get my baseline to 50+ FPS then the other card does LSFG for me for 50/200

This app is insane and even more insane with dual GPU set up thanks devs!

We need some tech channel to test what LS FG dual GPU is the best from what i know AMD and Intel GPUs are strong bc it using mostly FP16 instruction set
Yeah none of the big youtubers reviewed the 2 GPU set up so far when they looked at LS which I dont blame them since its a niche thing and something that 99% of their viewers won't know what they are talking about

Is there a guide how to use dual gpu ? I want to try my 4080S and my integradet IGPU on my i7 14700k

There's a guide on Discord in the docs&info section.

I've tried for 4090 (pcie gen 4 x8) with 4060 LP GPU (pice gen 4 x4) that dedicated to frame gen. tested games are sufficient over 8K@60fps with single GPU(ie. totk in switch emu or re-maked old game like diablo resurrection 2) And I am currently using 120hz 4K OLED HDR Display.

1. Native Frame Capped in lower frame rate
- 8K resoltution with BOTW in Cemu and TOTK Yuzu originally 80~100 fps with single GPU but capped by 52 when dual GPU configuration for lsfg (which means display connected with 2nd GPU)
- D2R 200% scale with no DLSS : original fps is not sure because I've played with RTX 3070 couple years ago but native frame capped under 60 fps at 8K resolution regardless of graphic quality settings.
- This might be from bottleneck with pci-e bandwidth of 2nd GPU

2. Native Frame even lowers when lsfg on.
- native frame (left fps rating when lsfg on) capped 51~ish frame
- I need to cap frame rate to 40 with x3 setting
- I'm trying with higher fps cap with adaptive fame gen (lsfg Beta 3.1.x)
- D2R is worse to capped in 30~40 frame when lsfg enabled so frame gen become more aggressive and so to the artifacts.

frame capped in 60 ~ish when 8K output with dual GPU is still tolerable but lowering the native frame when enable frame generation is such a disappointing.

I'm doubt to get more bandwidth for 2nd GPU will be a solution because lsfg also suppressing frame rate as well in 8K resolution.

plus, my GPUs are runs lower load when 8K frame gen rather than 4K.
