No. I use the new version for about two weeks now, and I'm still hyped. I mostly use x3/4 framegen (240hz 1440p monitor), and the difference in quality and speed compared to LSFG2.3 is big.
bugfixes dont require a new app version?
-Just about eliminated head flickering.
-Increased UI-stability.
-Similar or slightly worse edge-distortion.
-Similar or slightly worse artifacting or repeating patterns.
And yes, i can also get railings and poles to do what you've got going on in your imgur dump. In both 2.3 and 3.0. And you don't need slow-mo to notice it.
That's old news though, LS simply doesn't like certain patterns. Fortunately I don't care about those artifacts, I simply enjoy the massive advantages I get.
Huh? This isnt even a bug, its just how the algorithm is currently working. It needs further improvements. Therefore a 3.1 version. What do you mean?
Correct :)
Playing old 30 fps locked rts games with 4x in 2.3 LSFG had huge input lag, with this newer version the reduction of input lag is astonishing. Also the warping artifacting on the sides of the screen is heavily reduced.
Now it is possible to play emulated games with fps locks of 30 fps with incredible smoothness at 120 hz and almost not noticeable input lag.
So far the current 3.0 artifacting at 4x is insanely low. Now instead of flickering there is a warp effect around player character in 3rd person games ( elden ring, DS2, The Witcher 3, Monster Hunter FU, Monster Hunter World) when moving camera to the sides. This little warping is much better than the previous flickering that was very distracting.
To me is very impresive how well the generated frames support old rts games. You can see buttery smooth animations on the screen with little to no artifacting.
LOTR:BFME or Command and Conquer can be played with incredible visual smoothness never seen before thanks to this.
I will try performance with shooter games whenever I get the time because so far it has been impresive.
Yep, and I like x4 so much that I had ordered a new monitor, I upgraded to 240hz yesterday and switched over many games to 57x4, and it looks awesome! Even 46x5 looks quite good.
yes, you are right. sorry, the mistake was on my side. :)
It seems like it now has trouble with high contrast areas or transparencies. For example, this section in motion looks like a flickering mess on 3.0. I captured some images.
