Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

frame generation doesn't seem to work anymore
i have two monitors and a rtx gpu if it matters, frame gen used to work before but now it makes my games more laggy / choppy, unsure how to fix

Are you using Discord?
If you are, disable the game overlay in the Discord options, that fixed it for me. Something must have updated in Discord that caused my Lossless scaling to not work properly anymore.
Lossless Scaling clearly warns to disable all overlays, but it still works fine with Nvidia / Steam, just Discord is messing things up for me since today.

if you're using WGC I have the same issue, if you got into Nvidia control panel and setthe Render API to DXGI Swap chain and use DXGI it kind of works, though with the new inwdows update it gets hitches where soemtimes it'll shoot up to like double or triple your monitors FPS and stop working, I've also noticed if you're using OBS or Streaming on Discord it'll just not respect your monitor's refresh rate and go to like 50%-100% of your refresh

Sounds similar to my issue. For me I have to set the game to windowed and drag it to my non primary monitor to get FG to work. I've tested this to work with DXGI but have never had WGC work for me ever.

And you can swap which monitor is primary to get your preferred monitor working with FG. Hope this helps.

@Myta I've never heard of that setting and I want to give it a try. Just looked in both Nvidia apps for it but didn't see it. Can you be more specific where it is please?

Turning on frame gen just causes the screen to freeze on a still image until I turn it off. It doesn't work at all anymore. Was it a Nvidia driver update that broke it?

Or maybe the latest update to mpv made it stop working on videos?

I noticed the same issue. Before everything was great but now it’s working but much worse

Frame gen doesn't work at all in mpv or Retroarch anymore.

No cap, for me it was the Razer Cortex performance overlay and I only started using it a few months ago. I was wondering why LSFG has been so laggy and not working lately, turning off Razer Cortex overlay fixed the issue.
