Scaling Options for MSFS
Hello,

I've been testing this with MSFS and I'm wondering what is the best scaling option to use. I've been using the Nvidia option, but idk if there is a better one.
Overall, I've found this quite helpful in getting a better frame-rate with MSFS, apart from the drunken feeling when I move the camera (I'll take it over lower and stuttery frames).

LS1

LS1 is the best but can present issues in HDR in some games. If you experience this use NIS(It's superior to FSR1 just make sure you use NIS at 0-10% sharpening). NIS is a great alternative, it has good image quality but by far the stupidest level of over-tuned sharpening i've ever seen. 10% pretty much equals 30% so you can see where this will lead.. by the time you hit 30%, it's basically 90% and it because insanely over sharpened really fast.. which is why so many complain about NIS because they don't realise this.

I just tested it with MSFS 2020 and it absolutely does not work. It freezes my game every time I either alt-tab somewhere or if I switch to 3rd person view etc. It is absolutely not usable for MSFS 2020 imo

Sure it's usable. In case you use DX12 try it with DX11 instead. Or try a different graphics driver version. Or check you GPU load and VRAM load, LS uses both for frame generation,

I am using DX12 with NVidia Frame Gen on a 4070 so - you mean that LLS does not work with DX12 maybe? I will check later with another game. Do you often alt-tab out of your game and back - does that induce freezes?

Also - when I say it does not work - then I mean it does not work - it even completely froze my PC - had to hard-boot. Just sayin mate ;-)

LS works fine with DX12 in games, generally speaking, but sometimes there are system-specific issues with DX12 in certain games, so for troubleshooting reasons it's always a good idea to try alternatives. Like using Windowed Mode instead of Fullscreen (Fullscreen works in general, only Exclusive Fullscreen doesn't). I use FS2020 with DX11 Windowed mode, in LS I have enabled both multi-display mode and Windowed mode, framecap 30fps, monitor set to 60hz, x2 framegen.

No crashes or freezes here when I alt-tab out several times.

I've used it just fine with DX11. I've stayed away from DX12 given the numerous issues I've had with DX12 on my RTX 3080, compared to better stability and framerate with DX11.
