Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling halves FPS
Whenever I turn on frame generation X2, my actual FPS are halved. When sitting around 100 FPS without using the application (for instance in Pubg), I get around 50 to 60 once I activate frame generation. I do not use an upscaling option in the software.

Anyone else experiencing similar issues?

Such a high framerate drop is kinda unusual. Post your system specs, LS settings, resolution, and what refresh rate you use for your monitor.

I have a Ryzen 5 3600, 16 gigs of ram and a GTX 1060 (only 3GB vram). All games are installed on an SSD.

In LS: Scaling Mode is set to Auto, Scaling Type is Off, Frame Generation is set to LSFG 2.1 X2 with the Performance switch turned on. I've got Vertical Sync, Allow Tearing and Draw FPS turned on.

I am using a 144Hz 1440p monitor and while testing not setting a frame rate cap.

Then maybe the 3GB VRAM is the problem, LS not only uses GPU power, but VRAM as well. Check your GPU and VRAM load with MSI Afterburner/RTSS, lower the texture settings of the game and/or resolution for lower VRAM usage. And set the framecap to 1/2 of your refresh rate to get a smooth frame pacing.

Alright, thanks for the help. I will try messing with some settings

Good luck. Let us know if it worked.

I had that before, running over 60 without LS, 3x after activating fg.

The GPU usage was saturated. too heavy for it to do anything further.

idk if you have this solved or not.
turn off vsync from the game, and use the vsync from LS if needed.
start the game with borderless windowed or windowed mode, LS will make it full screen when activated.
