Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

Question in my mind related to adaptive frame generation and fixed FG
Today, I saw many people on YouTube achieving 120fps, even though their fps was low, around 50 or in the 40s. It looked stable and good to me. I want to know if I can use AFG to achieve similar results with good quality and motion clarity. I also watched AFG tutorial and sill have question.

Currently, I am playing a game where my fps is around 45 and sometimes drops to 42. I capped my fps to 42 and used lossless scaling with fixed FG x2, which allowed me to get a good 84 fps with quality and motion clarity. I want to know if using adaptive settings and targeting 120fps with a base frame rate capped at 40 will provide better quality and clarity than 82 fixed FG.
Also tell me which one will demand more GPU/CPU power as base fps is capped in both AFG and FFG.

My target: To achieve good fps with high quality and clarity.

Feel free to experiment with the settings and fps caps and pick the setting that gives you a result that you like. AFG needs more GPU power than Fixed.

Actually, I haven’t updated yet because I’m looking for a direct answer because I saw someone mention in this community that fixed frame generation is not working after the update, and I don’t want to ruin the experience I’m currently getting. So, I’ve held off on updating for now.

It works fine, you can update. If it doesn't work on your system for whatever reason you can always go back to an older version, you find them in the Betas tab.

Hey, with Windows 11 24H2, should I use WGC or DXGI? My FPS is super stable. In the tips, I saw that it says WGC reduces GPU/CPU load by 8-9% but requires stable FPS. Is this true?

Try both, then decide which one works better. Some prefer DXGI, some WGC.
