If anything I'd suspect AMD would do it for the consoles if they could.
RDNA3 didn't even support FP8/INT4, only INT8 - so if you'd remove the transformer model part on FP8, wouldn't you just end up with something like the existing FSR again anyway?
Keep in mind consoles are RDNA2 (or RDNA2.x) so they don't even support INT8...
And the steam hardware survey shows RDNA3 is about 0.5% of the userbase.
0.34% + 0.16% for the 7900 or 7700 XTX
Not sure how that'd be worth it unless these very, very few RDNA3 users actively donate to a cause for putting in the efforts.
Imho: if it cannot be done on RDNA2 and RDNA as well, it's not worth going after.
But sure, it would be nice if you could pull it off.
