Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

What's wrong with rtss?
LSFG doesn't work with fps lock via rtss. For example, i set lock to 60 fps in rtss, then set frame generator to x2 mode, then return to any game and fps counter from Lossless Scaling just shows 60/60. If set lock to 60 fps via in-game settings, then LSFG works correctly, fps counter shows 60/120 and i feel increased smoothness like i have real 120 fps. I tried all three versions of LSFG, all API versions, sync modes default and allow tearing, but problem is still there. I saw that youtubers in their tutorials lock fps via rtss and for them LSFG works correctly. What am i missing?

Are you setting a global cap in RTSS, rather than per-application? That will frame cap LS as well, keeping it from doing frame generation.
It's certainly a problem with how your Lossless Scaling or RTSS is configured, on RTSS - Setup - Compatibility properties, is your framerate limiter set to async?
If that doesn't work you could add your Lossless Scaling to RTSS with no limiter.

framerate limiter is async by default and i even tried every other modes and it didn't help with my weird problem

Well, that is strange. I've clearly seen that youtubers just setting fps lock in global mode, not setting it in per-application, and for them LSFG works correctly. I tried to add game.exe to rtss and limit fps for app and now LSFG works correctly. Wonder why it doesn't work with global fps limit in my case. Thanks for the tip.
