Lossless Scaling

feature request: add a ultra quality, quality, balanced, and performance preset for scaling
it would be a lot easier for new users and it would be a good QOL feature

Quality levels for upscalers entirely depend upon the input resolution (whatever the game window is running at[gpuopen.com]), it's not something Lossless Scaling can control.

no i mean like lets say you pick ultra quality it will set the scaling to 1.33x for you

Again, scale factor is decided by the input and output resolutions.

Check the table in the image linked in my message above: if you have a 1920x1080 monitor, running the game at 1477x831 gives the 1.3 scale factor, since 1080/831=~1.3, it's not an arbitrary value that you just decide by yourself.

This is already taken care of in Lossless Scaling by using the Auto option in Scaling Mode.

I get your point but LS can't control what resolution your game is running. If users set ultra and still get terrible quality since they're scaling from 720p to 4k for example, it's gonna backfire instead for example.

The program can resize the windows first but the game's internal resolution will be the same and no way around low internal res giving bad results without changing it in-game.

I agree with xvt. You can just do this for yourself. Part of the beauty of the current arrangement is the ability to use any resolution you want. Adding presets would almost over complicate the UI imo.

You can just select whatever resolution you want, no point. Someone wants ultra quality do 1.3, if youre at 1080p though 1.3 looks bad so you want 1.2 if you can get enough performance out of it

Unless it forces the game resolution on a virtual process, or add something to LS to auto-set a different profile per resolution, I don't see it functioning in any way. Integrate in games like Reshade would be the best way

You will have to change the in-game resolution.
