Lossless Scaling

Question about NVIDIA and AMD
My system is an Amd Ryzen 7 1700 and an Nvidia GTX 1080 FTW.

Theoretically, what would be the best configuration to use in the app?

My understanding is, generally setting LS to use the dedicated GPU is best, but putting it on the integrated GPU can work depending on what you're doing and if the dedicated GPU needs a break.

Besides that uhhhh, as far as I'm aware, the only GPU-specific advice I'm aware of is something like, you want to raise max frame latency if using an AMD GPU, apparently.

Your optimal LS config will depend on a couple things and the game you're playing but in general you want to:

Run your game capped at a frame rate that will be stable and not maxing your gpu. Ideally half your screen's refresh rate.

Lowering your games resolution usually help a lot there.

Then use LS to add image scaling say 1.6x - that'll turn 1600x900 into 1440p
and LSFG 2.3 2x mode to turn say a stable and capped 72fps into 144.

Your screen resolution, max fps, game title and the fps you want to hit will give anyone around here the info they need to tell you how best to set it up.

I'll try your tips. I currently play The Crew Motorfest in fullscreen borderless, at 2560x1080 resolution, 144hz with v-sync on. Thanks

You actually don't want vsync on in the game itself, from what I'm told. At best it's redundant (LS effectively vsyncs windows it's capturing), at worst it can introduce framepacing issues when you add LS in.
You'd want to use another method of capping the framerate if possible, and if you want to avoid screentearing, try the vsync option in LS.

Thanks for the tip. I use v-sync in my monitor and video card options, but I'll try toggling this option in-game to see how it behaves.
