How does this compare to the Skyrim Frame Generation mod by Puredark?
So I'm running a 4080 Super and have bought the frame generation+DLSS mod from Puredark. This app seems easier to use rather than having to tweak the .ini's and checking for mod comparability.

This won't compare to DLSS3 FG in any way. As a DLSS3 enjoyer(especially the 3.7 update).. This is good and like Gizzmoe said you can go for much higher FPS values with LSFG in the right modes.. However.. DLSS3 FG is basically magic and no PureDarks dedicated DLSS FG is actual DLSS3 FG not FSR3(that's a separate mod for non RTX owners). The first Skyrim mod he made was pure DLSS3 FG and then he eventually updated it to 3.7 more recently. Then he made a DLSS3 FSR3 swapper mod for RTX 3000 users and then a pure FSR3 mod for everyone else.

I have high end Nvidia/AMD rigs. I really enjoy LSFG for average broad spectrum use since it can frame gen literally any game.. but games where you can get DLSS3 FG either modded in(tbh this is ideal because you can update the dlls to 3.7) you should.. AFMF2 preview is incredibly impressive. I don't think it's really that's amazing of frame gen tbh.. I still can't stand some of the juddering it has no matter what settings you manage to minimise it..

However the cost of AFMF2 is insane(literally nothing.. I was surprised after further testing because AFMF1 was pretty bad cost wise, latency and quality wise).. AFMF2 is a huge upgrade over the former. That said the latest FSR 3.1 update is even better.. despite all these major updates that really improve them.. DLSS 3.7(it's recent update).. is that much better. The input latency it has.. defies logic.

I don't understand how Nvidia is achieving this.. the input latency is basically native. It makes 0 sense. Like DLSS 3-3.5 had some input latency and obviously if you're frame generating from a low base fps.. DLSS can't do that much.. For mid range to high end rigs though. You have access to a high enough base that nothing is compounded and nvidia has made massive improvements to this since the unveiling of their DLSS 3.0 initial release.

Even more DLSS remains the very vest quality up-scaler.. Even Ultra performance at 4K resolution is VERY usable. Still giving decently quality.. Again.. MAGIC. Try and use Ultra performance FSR anything .. LOL .. Ultra Perfomance FSR till looks like an oiled finger painting to me. DLSS Quality or Ultra Quality depending on the game I think has finally reached the point where it's actually fully better than native because of that baked in super high quality double pass TAA.

The other major difference is motion fluidity and clarity. DLSS3 frame gen massively wins. They use some AI filter that makes it so stupid fluid. I wish AMD had it. I go from my RTX 4090 rig to my wife's 7900xtx rig and she uses FG to play some games and it's just judder city by comparison and I can't get used to it after coming from DLSS.. My only regret is that DLSS3 FG is not available in more games. If DLSS was available in every game I would never use AMD anything or LSFG tbh.
