That depends on the game, the resolution, your monitor hz and what fps you wanna reach. A good start would be to cap your framerate to half of your monitor hz either in-game or RTSS, then use x2 framegen to double your fps. Lower your graphics settings or render res if you don't get the expected results, or lower the monitor hz and the framerate cap.

There are no unique settings, you will have to experiment.
You can go on the discord server to see people sharing different settings/info for different games and hardware. That should give you enough inforamtin to start experimenting by yourself

As long as the card has 16GB vram it should have no issues. An 8GB GPU cannot handle RT and FG well in new titles as it don't have the memory to operate normally.

And game developers is not going to optimize it for those cards anymore because it is half of what a console can work with so not a priority. You get to use the system RAM once VRAM is used up with fps drops and stutters.

This program will take a good chunk of VRAM when it is active

If you have 8GB then lower the texture settings to lowest and cross your fingers that it runs well.

This program is perfect for old games so there is no reason to avoid it if you need the things it offer.

Optimal settings is where you have at least 40 real fps as a minimum when it is enabled. I prefer 60 personally.
