You can go on the discord server to see people sharing different settings/info for different games and hardware. That should give you enough inforamtin to start experimenting by yourself
And game developers is not going to optimize it for those cards anymore because it is half of what a console can work with so not a priority. You get to use the system RAM once VRAM is used up with fps drops and stutters.
This program will take a good chunk of VRAM when it is active
If you have 8GB then lower the texture settings to lowest and cross your fingers that it runs well.
This program is perfect for old games so there is no reason to avoid it if you need the things it offer.
Optimal settings is where you have at least 40 real fps as a minimum when it is enabled. I prefer 60 personally.
