Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

Has anyone tried this with Dragon's Dogma 2?
I don't remember all my specs off the top of my head but I have a GTX 1660 Ti which is a bit weaker than the lowest recommended setup for the game (a GTX 1070), but with a bunch of tweaks I can *kind of* play the game. I heard about Lossless Scaling recently and wondered if it could clinch it for me and allow me to play the game a little until I finish saving for my PC upgrade. Thanks in advance for any responses!

Frame gen consume gpu power, it's not free fps from air, so if this game already stutter or crashed due gpu limit, nothing will help you.

How many fps do you get and at what render resolution?

Doesn't crash due to a GPU limit or anything, just stutters here and there in the main world and gets pretty stuttery in towns.

I don't know my exact FPS since I have everything set up so that I get the most performance possible (Steam overlay is off) but if I had to guess I'd say around 40fps? And it just stutters a lot in towns. I render it at 720p as of most recently but can run it at 3840x2160 and it's not much different in terms of performance. From what I understand, this is because a lot of the load is on the CPU.

If it's really because of a CPU-limit then LS would theoretically be the perfect solution. Set your render res to 720p and check your framerate and GPU-load with RTSS.

Frame gen can't smooth bad engine/optimisation by double or triple your locked fps, streaming issues too.

Don't be so negative. LS helps tremendously in CPU-limited situations. For example, in MSFS i can only get like 30FPS while flying over NYC because my CPU is too weak, but I can get it to 80-90fps with LS.

Thanks for the responses everyone, I'm going to head to bed now and check back when I get up. I might give it a go tomorrow just in case I see any improvement, figure it can't hurt to try but I just made the post in case anyone happened to have already tried themselves.
