Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

Star Citizen Players
Okay so specs first
RTX 4070
165hz 1440p Asus monitor
fps limited to 60

Thing is, with the app on LS1 (no performance mode) and frame gen set to LSFG 2.1 and Capture API on WGC i can't really tell if there's any improvement...
I know SC has DLSS support but it doesnt have frame gen (which would help far more than DLSS imo)
So has anyone managed to get good results using LS? It could just be the game cause we all know how damn right hard it is to get SC at a stable 60fps especially on planets

I haven't played SC yet, but in case It's hard to reach 60fps on planets because of CPU-limit you could set framecap to 60 with x2 framegen Performance mode on and DXGI, enable Draw FPS, when you see 60/120 in-game it's working fine. fF you see like 45/90 it means you're GPU-limited, then lower the game setting and/or render resolution until you reach a stable 60/120.

And for a 60fps -> 120fps it's best to also set the monitor hz to 120 for frame pacing and sync reason

An in case you don't wanna lower your graphics settings or resolution, try a 50fps cap with monitor set to 100hz.

Thanks for the insight! I messed around with a few settings and capped the game to 40fps in Nvidia control panel. Now i've got a pretty solid 80fps on planets and a smooth 100-120fps everywhere else! The only issue is slight ghosting on doors/ramps on the edges but i suspect that's down to running the game in 1080p and letting LS scale it back up to 1440p however that's a small insignificant price (you barely notice it during gameplay) to pay for such smooth gameplay

Do you use Performance mode for x3 framegen?

x2 Framegen and no performance mode

Try a 50fps framecap with x2 Performance mode On, I'm 90% sure that you'll see even better framerates on planets.

Hi. I have a good result with this setting:
- Set my monitor refresh rate to 120Hz
- Cap the framerate to 40fps using Rivatuner (RTSS)
- Set LS framegen to 3x
