Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

Anyone using lossless scaling on Elden Ring that could help me?
What are your settings?
I used amd fsr but it doesnt improve performance even at low quality high performance option, and if i turn on frame generation the game goes all stuttery (i do see kinda more frames tho) but the fps counter keeps saying i got the same fps instead of double. (around 40fps)

If you wanna reach 60fps for example, set a framecap of 30fps either in-game or RTSS or your GPU control panel, then use x2 framegen with performace mode on to get it to 60fps. If the framecounter shows 30/60 then it's fine, the first number is the base framerate, the second the fps you see. if it only shows like 20/40 then you're GPU-limited and you need lower your graphics setting.

Thanks i managed to use frame generation but i kinda didnt like it, now the problem is the upscaling, whenever i turn it on i get worse performance instead of better fps. Any help with this one?

What excatly do you wanna do and what have you tried already? What LS settings did you use?

I need a fex extra fps to get smooth 60 fps overall because im getting down to 54 fps in some areas and its a lil annoying. so i guess if use Upscaling ill get those extra fps i need, but when i turn on AMD fsr or any other scaling method i get worse fps, down to 42 to 48 in all areas.

So you have lowered the game resolution and wanna upscale with LS to fullscreen, right? Make sure you didn't forget to switch off Frame Generation, and set Scaling Mode to Auto and Aspect Ratio.

i switched off frame generation i tried custom scaling mode and auto :( keep getting worse fps instead of improving it whenever i turn it on

The LS upscalers don't improve the framerate, they simply resize the window. So you need to lower the game res first, then use LS to resize it back to fullscreen.

Did you have v-sync on LS, via programme setting of your Intel/AMD/Nvidia control panel?

For scaling, one of the ways to do it:

1) set your desktop resolution to your target resolution
2) go in game, set the in game resolution to a lower resolution than that of desktop, then set it to windowed. Then the game will be in a small window that does not cover the whole screen.
3) in LS, choose auto for scaling mode, choose LS1 for scaling type (people say it's better than FSR)
4) activate scaling

In that case, you are running the game in a lower resolution, then LS upscales it for you, thus having a better performance, maybe?

Ok this one works but i need fps boost without lowerin the resolution that much so i need Amd FSR but its giving me worst performance than native, this is the only game where this is happening btw

Well I personally prefer frame generation for gaming. Now that you have above 50 fps in game, you should really try LS's frame gen.

Also, what's your monitor's refresh rate? You may play above 60 fps if your monitor allows. Then you can start with a base fps of 40 or more, giving you more stable frame gen, hopefully.

And for v-sync, I mean v-sync on for LS, done in graphics control panel, not in the game or in the LS UI, just to be clear.
