Lossless Scaling

Lossless Scaling

How is the frame generation?
I have a few games in mind that I would like to use frame gen on but they are either text heavy, capped at 30fps or both what is practically worst the case scenario for FG.
How are peoples experiences going from 30fps-60fps and using frame gen and in jrpg games with lots of text. Does it render the ui and text completely unreadable or it is still playable.

i tried with switch game, pokemon sv and demon slayer, from 30 > 80+ (WGC API) it's fine, text are readable

its pretty good, but i recommend not using scaling to allow the game to run native.

allows the engine to run normal while lossless app handles the frame generation.

Tried 30f->60f and 36f->72f, both works fine for me, but 36->72 does better because of my 144 monitor

For 30->60 FG you need to set the capturing method to WGC, lock the game FPS to 30, and lock the LS fps to 60. There will always be noticeable artifacts when using FG below 60 fps but the method above is the only one where it is not that bad. If you hover over the frame generation drop down menu in the app, you will see a warning that the recommended base fps for using FG is 60 pre-fg.

my LSFG suffers from distortion on the sides of the screen, merely making a fisheye. I have tried locking frames to 30 (I have a 75hz screen), but to no avail. it works more or less in some games, like cyberpunk 2077 - other games are completely warped on the edges and no fun to play. you will have to try it and I wanna say, that development of the lossless scaling tool is not on hold or abandoned.

I dont regret having bought the tool. it is awesome!

Yeah, there are some artifacts like these motion waves that you are experiencing which cannot be fixed due to them being related to the low fps used as input. tThe only way to negate them is to be able to reach 60 fps as base pre-fg

thanks. some games even work with no capping FPS with RTSS (rivatuner statistics server). just turn on lossless scaling, start game, push "scale" in LS and it works. not in all games, but hey! maybe the LS tool devs can still do some wizardry?

It is a solo dev. For using 30->60 FG I recommend to check my earlier post here with details on how you can improve it.
It's actually really good. Using it on 72-144 and for more demanding games that will never reach that high, it's great

I have a 144hz monitor too due to the lack of VRR when using this program is the stutter from not have a factor or mutiple of 144 bad or still playable?

You can still paly perfectly if you set everything correctly.

Conan Exiles with many mods = terrible. Insane artefacts and unuseable. Because of frametimes und fps fluctuation.
